Moses Basket Mattress Cover Protector

The job of the cover protector is to ensure the foam or natural filling inside does not become wet so as to encourage mould or react with the foam.

You should choose a product that has a fixed non-removable mattress cover that is waterproof and can be wiped clean. Mattresses with removable covers should be waterproof and machine washable.

Some mattresses such as the natural non-foam types may need a separate protector as they may just have an organic cotton covering which will not protect against liquids compared to a waterproof mattress. It is useful to have two mattress protectors or a waterproof mattress pad so as one can be in use whilst the other is in the wash.

A moses basket protector for your mattress will also protect against dust mites which are present in all mattresses and has nothing to do with cleanliness.
